Pro bono Activities

Gideon Koren & Co. views pro bono work as an important contribution to the society we live in and thus such work plays an equal role among GKL activities.

Gideon Koren, the founder of GKL, currently serves as the Executive Committee member of ICOMOS (The International Council on Monuments & Sites). Within ICOMOS he also serves as the President of ICOMOS Israel and the President of ICLAFI – ICOMOS (International Scientific Committee on Legal, Administrative & Financial Issues). Gideon is also the inaugurator & former chairman of the Jerusalem chapter of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners). Gideon also devotes time to Israeli NGOs, such as the Society for the protection of nature in Israel, the Jerusalem Scouts and others.

All of GKL partners and attorneys contribute their legal expertise to a variety of not-for-profit clients. Our pro bono work provides legal assistance to the members of our community, as well as to NGOs with aims our firm identifies with, such as The World Bank (www.worldbank.org), IMBM – The Institute for Medical BioMathematics (www.IMBM.org), Lev Echad (One Heart) – Community Crisis Aid (www.levechad.org), Hapoel Katamon – Israel’s first football club owned by its fans (www.katamon.co.il), among others.
